VIRTUAL: Thursday May 28th, 11am-1pm PT

For the past 10 years, E4E has been hosting critical conversations about the challenges and brilliance of Black Children. Each event has highlighted the work and perspective of scholars, artists, activists and practitioners with an emphasis of providing best practices, perspectives and pedagogy for youth development professionals.

This online conversation features educators and organizers who use culture as a tool for liberation in the education of Black and Brown children. The focus is how knowledge of street and community culture can become a tool to build and sustain educational projects and programs. Our guest Dr. Cesar Cruz has participated in our Educating the Black Child conversation before, however here we are seeking to identify pathways to solidarity between Black and Brown educators and children in the face of an assault on our hoods. Dr. Cruz received his PhD from Harvard University, but only after he received an honorary PhD from the communities where he has served as a transformative educator, leader and visionary advocate for social justice. Join us on April 21 from 1130am - 1pm we will have a lunchtime conversation about the role of education in determining a sustainable future.
