This is a replay of our conversation with the late Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu, whose life work was to elevate the teaching practices of educators of Black children. This recent ancestor spent over four decades on this subject, and was responsible for many of the greatest insights informing the current state of Black education.
Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu was an award winning Author, Scholar and Activist who wrote over 42 books about Educating Black Children. His most famous books are The Conspiracy to Destroy Black Boys, and Countering the Conspiracy to Destroy Black Boys, where he outlines the assault on Black children and offers strategies to mitigate the harm caused by miseducation, dehumanization and pipelines to incarceration. Dr. Kunjufu is among the leading thinkers and voices on the subject of Educating Black children, in the world.
