Everyday our world gets smaller and smaller. Our young people can figuratively teleport to any part of the world or get information about anything in a device that fits in the palm of their hands. Music and celebrity culture is bigger than ever and social issues of violence, racism and environmental crisis continue to plague us. These are the issues that our schools and youth development programs must contend with. The good news is that we can leverage all of the challenges that we face as opportunities within our program structures. In the workshop you will explore ways to integrate technology and social media as a tool for education, community building and youth led social action.
